Previous Winners

The last competition saw a giveaway of cider from the Big Bear Cider Mill, based in Braintree, Essex. The competition saw the public come up with their best and funniest cider related facts. Big Bear Cider Mill’s 100% apple juice cider – made with the help of Vitikit’s cider making equipment – must be good as over 300 entries were made. Picking a winner was not easy for our team. Since 2016, Kombucha Kat Founder, Sam, has been crafting their organic kombucha by hand in the heart of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, refining the flavour-profile again and again and again. Kombucha is a fermented drink made from sweetened tea and a specific culture known as a scoby. Scoby stands for ‘symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeasts’. The bacteria and yeasts convert the sugar into ethanol and acetic acid. The acetic acid is what gives kombucha its distinctive sour taste.
